Avril Lavrigne full name is Avril Ramona Lavigne Whibley also known as Avril. For some she might be just another singer in the music community but in a very short period she has successfully gained considerable amount of fame. And to support this she has a number of record albums to her credit. She belonged to a dedicated Christian family and at the age of just two her talent was recognized by her mother.
In her earlier days she was in the Church choir and it was there that her mother noticed her singing abilities. She was active in taking part in the singing competitions and she had also performed with the renowned singer Shania Twain (she is also Canadian). The name of the song was “What made you say” and who knew that it was just the start of a star in the making.
It was Mr. Cliff who was her first manager and in Ontario he noticed her as she was singing at Chapter s Bookstore. It was the year of 2002 when her first album ‘Let Go’ was released in America and it was a major success. The album was successfully ranked on the top charts in countries like Canada, America, and Britain. That time went into the history books as she became the youngest solo artist (at the age of 18 years) to reach the top position in Britain with her debut album. And it was just the beginning as the album ‘Let Go’ received many awards afterwards and reached the multi platinum position and attained the triple platinum position in two weeks.
In the year 2002 her album has a record of selling over one million copies across the world by a female singer. One single from her debut album named ‘Complicated’ went to the top position in Australia. And in America the song topped Hot 100 Bilboard countdown and it was also hit in Canada at that point of the year. In the year 2004 she came out with her another album- Under My Skin. The album was a major hit in the countries like- Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, Canada, Australia, America, and Britain and many other places. In America the album sold 3 lakh copies. The majority of the lyrics were written by Avril and she collaborated with a Canadian song writer Chantel Kreviazuk.
In such a short singing career Avril has received many awards. Some of the main awards won by her are World Music Award, MTV Awards, Juno Awards, and Grammy Awards. She is married to Mr. Deryck and she had also worked in the movies like Over the Hedge and The Flock. It cannot be commented on what her future will bring for her, will she be successful or not, but so far she has tasted success in a very small age. No doubt that she is a talented singer and looks like she is here to stay.
